ASHINA BAY

ASHINA BAYFRONT VILLA is located in the Minami Hayama area on the west coast of Miura Peninsula along the seaside road of Ashina Bay, with panorama views of Sagami Bay, Izu Peninsula, Enoshima, and on a clear day Mount Fuji towering beyond the mountains of Hakone.

Unlike the nearby tourist destinations of Kamakura and Enoshima, Ashina is mostly untouched by large-scale resort developments and chain store roll-outs, and retains a cozy, almost retro-like charm with the friendliness of a small, local community.

The little sand beach, shielded from the open sea by the adjacent fishing port and yacht marina, is the natural focal point where kindergarten kids play in the morning and locals gather at dusk to admire the stunning sunset over the bay - a world away from the stress of everyday city life.

AKIYA BEACH AND TATEISHI PARK

The scenic Akiya Beach and Tateishi Park, famous viewpoints of Mount Fuji from days of old as depicted in the late Edo Period by renowned ukiyoe artist Utagawa Hiroshige, are located a 15-minute walk from ASHINA BAYFRONT VILLA.

Akiya Beach is a family-friendly, shallow sand beach with small or no waves that doesn’t get crowded even during the peak season - ideal for watching the sunset with Enoshima and Mount Fuji in the background.

SAJIMA

Sajima, a 15-minute walk from ASHINA BAYFRONT VILLA along the seaside road, is renowned for its fishing port, with a wide variety of fresh fish, including Sajima octopus and shirasu sold in local shops.

Enjoy a stroll along the port while watching the fishing boats bobbing up and down in the bay, or visit Tenjinjima Park and Marine Biological Garden at the tip of Sajima Peninsula before trying some of the local delicacies at one of the seaside restaurants!

OHGUSUYAMA

Ohgusuyama is at the humble height of 242 meters the tallest mountain on Miura Peninsula, and its summit offers 360 degree view of the entire peninsula, Sagami Bay, and on a clear day Mount Fuji and Tokyo.

There are two well-maintained hiking routes that start in Ashina and Akiya, each taking around one hour to the summit at a leisurely pace.
